Indian Expat, Shivin Wins a Share of AED 1 Million

21 January 2021, Dubai, UAE: UAE resident and Indian native Shivin Wilson claimed AED 200,000 in the 8th Mahzooz draw after entering for the first time. A 27-year-old Engineer and currently involved in the construction of a petrochemical plant, Shivin will allocate part of his winnings to pursue career-related qualifications that will help provide him with greater opportunities in the future.

“I was very excited to be playing for the first time. I actually missed watching the live draw, so I checked the results the following morning and it was only then that I realized I had won. Finding this out was a brilliant feeling and I am very happy,” said Shivin.

As a first-time entrant to the GCC’s only weekly live draw, Mahzooz was recommended to Shivin by friends who are regular players. Having been told about the concept and that he should play himself, Shivin decided to take their advice.

An avid fan of music and cricket, he has not yet decided what he will purchase first with his winnings. However, Shivin has had a chance to think about what he will do in the near future.

“Right now, there are no plans in terms of what my first purchase will be,” he continued. “Besides using the money for educational purposes, I plan on using it to support my parents.”

Hailing from Kerala, Shivin also had some words of encouragement for others thinking of playing: “Just try it,” he said. “If you play, you can also have some luck. This was my first time playing and I had the fortune of winning – so anything is possible.”

For those who missed out on this week’s draw, entrants can participate in Mahzooz by registering via and purchasing Al Emarat bottles of water for AED 35. Each bottle of water purchased provides eligibility for one line in the draw and will be donated and channelled through Mahzooz’s community partners to hydrate those in need.

The next draw will be held as scheduled on Saturday 23 January 2021 at 9:00pm UAE time. Mahzooz is inclusive to all who are eligible.
